Helping Arkansas Homeowners
Effective September 30, 2022, The Arkansas Low-Income Housing Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Summer Session Assistance Program is closed. Applicants for the HAF utility assistance program will not be required to apply for LIHEAP before applying for HAF benefits during this time.
The Arkansas Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) is a federally funded program helping Arkansas residents who are behind on their mortgages, electricity, gas and/or internet payments.
HAF offers both Mortgage Assistance, which provides funds to eliminate or reduce past due payments, and pay up to six (6) monthly mortgage payments, or Principal Assistance to help a homeowner achieve an affordable payment, and Utility/Internet/Broadband Payment Assistance, which provides funds to resolve delinquent payments for utility and/or internet access services, to low- to moderate-income homeowners impacted by COVID-19.
As of February 1, 2022, the Application Portal is officially open and accepting applications for assistance!
